May 24, 1959, 12:10 pm, San Bernardino Reserve Sheriff on duty snaps a polaroid photo of Jim Velasques walking (wearing shorts and holding his straw hat) next to his friend Silvia and her parents and friend on their way to their car during a lunch break at the Giant Rock convention. UFO is in the background above the giant boulder.

12:12 pm, UFO and Jim Velasques are gone. Jim Velasques claims to have been taken aboard the UFO via the cone shaped beam that can been seen in the previous (12:10) photo.

Reserve Sheriff F.W. Ackerman of 29 Palms, Califonia holding the two polariod photos he had just taken. This photo was taken by journalist Gabriel Green who was present only a few minutes after 12:10 pm. A few people high up on a nearby hill reported seeing the UFO shortly before the Deputy took his photos. They reported the object was visible for only a few seconds, came strait down from the sky then sped off in a southeasterly direction faster than their eyes could keep up.

A cell phone camera picture taken in 2006 of the original polaroid photos taken by Franz W. Ackerman. The photos were in excellent condition at the home of Jim Velasques in Riverside, California. Jim Navajo Velasques passed away Monday, September 25, 2006 age 77 at his home.

Deputy F.W. Ackerman dated and signed the back of the photos. Ackerman died in the 1980s.
